In the Detailed Design Engineering phase we’re able to follow our own FEED information or, alternatively, to work from another contractor’s FEED work.
Either way, we’ll develop a detailed solution and progress the design to sufficient maturity in order to conclude procurement and commence execution. We recognise too that, based on complexity or repeatability, a FEED phase is not always required and in these instances we’re able to move straight to detailed design. PD&MS also believes in running detailed design work in parallel with FEED where there’s clear definition and the ability to progress cells of work productively.
When we haven’t been involved in the initial phase of a project, we’ll endeavour to constructively challenge customers’ concept specifications or FEED work.
As part of this we always look for opportunities to add value and to work with the customer to sensibly reduce specifications, where safe to do so, in order to achieve desired outcomes as efficiently as possible. Our habit of questioning pre-existing information in a helpful spirit extends beyond engineering standards. We believe in positively disrupting the status quo in oil and gas conventional engineering and detailed design – to challenge norms, scope estimates and scope necessities, and to instil a sense of urgency and ownership in our engineering teams.
We care passionately about achieving a detailed design outcome that leads to efficient and safe construction, commissioning and operations.
It’s this sense of care, underpinned by our Genes, that enables us to provide unique solutions to our customers. Our detailed design service offers:
Digitalisation for Differentiation; Bespoke Tools and Technology to improve efficiency.
